About Us

The Seamark Ranch logo is a shining beacon – a lighthouse leading children to safety and security.

Our seamark is Jesus Christ. The shining light portrays His salvation, love, peace, hope, and grace – all of which are freely given to our children at Seamark Ranch.

Seamark Ranch, located on a beautiful 465 acre campus in Northeast Florida, seeks to provide a traditional home environment where each child can experience the security of boundaries and the acceptance of unconditional love. The Seamark approach is therapy-based and individualized. We strive to heal wounds and help children prosper in faith, in school, and in the community.

Seamark Ranch’s vision is to break the generational cycle of failure that affects the families we serve, and to nurture purposeful living in children who have experienced the impact of broken families. The children of Seamark Ranch will be equipped with a worldview and life skills that will enable them to productively contribute to our community. Our children will be healed in heart and formed for service.

Seamark Ranch is more than a children’s home, orphanage or group home. We are a team of passionate individuals dedicated to bettering the lives of less fortunate children. We offer hope and healing in an environment full of grace and unconditional love. We strive to make dreams come true for the children in our care!

Our Mission

Seamark Ranch is a nurturing Christian home and family system that gives children from families in crisis the tools they need for a brighter future. Through a family home model, a specialized residential school, and the lessons of life on a working farm community, Seamark Ranch provides the ideal setting for love, stabilization, healing, education, and empowerment.

Our Vision

Seamark Ranch’s vision is to break the generational cycle of failure that affects the families we serve, and to nurture purposeful living in children who have experienced the impact of broken families. The children of Seamark Ranch will be equipped with a worldview and life skills that will enable them to productively contribute to our community. Our children will be healed in heart and formed for service.

The Seamark Story

In early 2000, the foster care system in Florida was struggling to provide the nurturing care and developmental support children needed to overcome the loss, grief and trauma caused by family crises. Statistics were beginning to demonstrate widespread failures of the Foster Care system where children continue to disruptively move from placement to placement. Seamark Ranch has worked to change the face of childcare for the fortunate ones who find their home at Seamark Ranch.

Seamark is the solution to the increasing need to help children who, through no fault of their own, have been left alone in this world. As you look through our website you will see hopeful faces of children providentially blessed with opportunity that is all too rare for those who require out-of-home care. Whether our children go on to be adopted, are eventually reunified in their biological families, or grow up with us, all are family!

Since opening our doors Seamark has served over 100 children with it’s homes, on-campus school and extensive childcare programs. Join us, as we continue to add more homes and grow and expand our programs. We hope to transform the lives of hundreds of children entrusted to our care with your help! It is heartbreaking to have to turn away children. Won’t you join us? You can change a child’s life today!

Our History

Founders

Keith and April Denton founded Seamark Ranch in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001.

Keith Denton experienced first-hand how Seamark Ranch can make a difference in the lives of children. When he was 10 years old, Keith went to live at Big Oak Ranch, a Christian children’s home in Alabama. His new family loved him and nurtured his development, and his gifts and talents blossomed in the Christ-centered environment.

During his high school valedictorian address, Keith thanked his ranch family for believing in a kid on whom everyone else had given up. After graduating from college, Keith and his wife, April, returned to the ranch where he served as the ranch’s first Director of Development.

In 2001, the Lord gave Keith and April the vision of founding and building Seamark Ranch for boys and girls in the Northeast Florida area. The dream began to take shape as two Jacksonville families donated 468 acres in Clay County, Florida. In the summer of 2007, the dream became a reality as Seamark Ranch opened its doors to children and began its ministry thanks to the support and generosity of hundreds of compassionate individuals, churches, civic organizations, foundations, and businesses.

Lend Your Financial Support

Seamark Ranch relies almost exclusively on private contributions from individuals, businesses, civic organizations, foundations, and churches for its support. Seamark Ranch maintains a debt-free policy and is building the Ranch as capital is raised.
